MIMU Training Resources

Information Management services aim to provide  adequate information – or the right information - at the right time, in the right forms for decision-making.

For MIMU’s work, these decisions relate to Humanitarian, Development and Peace-related activities which aim to better support all of Myanmar’s people to be safe and protected, and to enjoy peace and prosperity while also protecting the environment for a sustainable future.

An important part of MIMU’s approach is building the capacity of agencies, government and the academic sector to better manage information for decision-making. Our technical courses have been developed by the MIMU team and are provided in Myanmar language. Thee focus on skills in data management (Excel training), in geospatial data management and mapping (QGIS training), as well as the skills to manage and visualize data for decision-making (Information Management training).  MIMU provides certificates for those successfully completing our face-to-face and mentored distance learning courses which include assignments.

On this page you will find course materials for self-paced learning – videos, handouts and exercises - developed by MIMU for our Basic Excel training and Basic QGIS training. MIMU does not provide any certificate for the online courses accessed through this webpage, but they will help you to learn and strengthen these skills to help you to better manage and visualise data.

PLEASE NOTE - These MIMU resources and materials are made available free of charge and cannot be sold or used for commercial purposes – if you find them being misused in this way, please inform us ([email protected]).  If you wish to share these resources or use them with a wider group, please respect the MIMU Terms and Conditions and ensure that MIMU is attributed.

Finally, please share feedback with us on how you find the courses and especially on how they have helped your work through the MIMU Training Feedback Form.

We hope you will use these resources to strengthen your own skills and apply them to making sure no-one is left behind in Myanmar’s humanitarian and development efforts.
