The School Construction Sub Working Group was reactivated in 2014 and meets monthly to provide a platform for information sharing, coordination, joint action, advocacy and learning for organizations working on safe construction of new schools and other educational facilities in Myanmar. It addresses various aspects of school construction including inspection, vulnerability assessment, and maintenance and retrofitting of existing schools and educational establishments; the use of schools as shelters in emergency and the planning and construction of new schools cum emergency shelters. The School Construction Sub Working Group is co-chaired by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and World Vision International Myanmar;
