Cash Programming

The Cash Working Group (CWG) in Myanmar was established in September 2013 in recognition of the need to increase coordination and learning on Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) programming, bringing together cash programming stakeholders from UN agencies, funds and programmes, NGOs, and the Red Cross Movement. Since then, and especially over the past few years, agencies, including the Government of Myanmar, are increasingly incorporating CVA within Humanitarian Response and Social Protection programs in Myanmar. The CWG was reactivated in August 2015 in the context of the flood emergency response and is closely linked to the Inter-Cluster Coordination Group (ICCG) and Social Protection Working Group.

The CWG is co-chaired by the World Food Programme (WFP), Mercy Corps, and Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS), with support from OCHA as a secretariat. The overall objective of the group is to contribute to strengthening the coherence and quality of CVA programs in Myanmar.

This page aims to share key documents, tools, and guidelines to promote best practices, coordination, and harmonization between partners implementing cash and voucher activities.
