Welcome to the MIMU!

What is the MIMU?

The MIMU provides a common information exchange service for the humanitarian community through strengthened coordination, collection, processing, analysis and dissemination of information.

The MIMU supports analysis and decision making by the UN Resident/Humanitarian Coordinator (RC/HC), Humanitarian Country Team (HCT) partners , the UN Country Team and other actors both inside and outside of Myanmar.

The MIMU is governed by a Steering Committee which represents the interests of the HCT membership and it reports to the UN RC/HC.

 

The MIMU’s Products and Services

  • Who, What, Where information (3W database) compilation and management
  • Meeting Schedules – to facilitate the coordination of the humanitarian and development response
  • Contact Lists – contact lists of individuals, agencies, and key authorities involved in the Myanmar humanitarian and development response
  • Integrated Monitoring Matrix (IMM) – monitoring the clusters’ response against the Revised Flash Appeal
  • Maps – provision of base maps and customized thematic maps

  • Pcodes and Standard Place Names – Unique reference code to locations in Myanmar
  • GPS Training
  • Inventory of existing relevant documents and datasets on the development/humanitarian situation
  • Compilation of relevant baseline data and indicators
  • Information products to support scenario development, contingency planning and the identification of trends and humanitarian risks
  • Dissemination Tools – CD Roms, Website (http://www.themimu.info), Resource Centre, Hub-Offices, LRC.
  • Technical support in the establishment of databases and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Consultative advice on data collection efforts and assessments
